The Speaking Voice
Our speaking voice is vital part of our identity and a tool that most of us use every day. In this class, we will strengthen the connection between you, your thoughts, and your voice. We will apply theatrical voice and speech techniques to improve your comfort and confidence in public speaking for anything from a project presentation to a performance, to teaching, to a job interview!
We will learn vocal warm-up techniques to improve breath support, resonance and relaxation. We will also look at the basic science and anatomy of vocal sound production so that you can better understand how your voice is a full-body instrument. Finally, we will work on tips and tricks for connecting with your audience and getting your point across with clarity and confidence.
Dates: 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/25, 3/4, 3/11
Time: Tuesdays 4:30-6pm
Ages: Adults
