We first discovered CWS for the Parent-Child program. Those 2 hours once a week were like magic as we sat and sang in a circle, ate soup at a table and formed friendships. Growing up as a public-school student, we did not really think about private school. However, each step of the way we knew that CWS was making an impact on our children’s wellbeing and guiding our family. Fast forward to high school where we watch them take on the many challenges of academia thru story, rigor, art, and experiments while still smelling soup! At CWS we found community, ceremony, and inspiration.
I believe that CWS has allowed my children to become self-empowered, self-assured to withstand the challenges of the world we face today. Throughout our time at CWS we have watched our children grown into amazing thriving teens who are able to communicate with their peers, with other adults and most importantly with their parents. I love that this education is K-12. It has a thru line and philosophy that follows them all thru high school and beyond.
We have always given back to our highest capacity to CWS. As many Waldorf parents, we wish we could have gone to a Waldorf school. It is our hope that more children are able to receive this education and that we can continue to share it thru our FIT tuition model which supports economic diversity and allowing many students to share in the gift of CWS. My husband and I are so grateful for all that Chicago Waldorf School has done to nurture our kids into self-assured, kind humans.
