Annual Giving and Endowments
No independent school can charge the full cost of educating its students without pricing itself out of the market. So like other not-for-profits, we rely on charitable support to fulfill our mission. Gifts to the Chicago Waldorf School are tax-deductible.
An Annual Fund is a yearly effort to raise funds to help bridge the gap between tuition income and the cost of running the school. An Endowment is a fund whose principle is required to stay intact and is invested to create an ongoing source of income to offset expenses. We are fortunate beneficiaries of three current endowments which have been generously established by members of our community.
The Chicago Waldorf School Annual Fund:
The Chicago Waldorf School Annual Fund is designed help bridge the gap between tuition income and actual operating expenses for the school.
Victor and Dinah T. Lazar Endowment Fund:
The Lazar Endowment is designed to strengthen the school's ability to provide scholarship support for students in need, for faculty with children attending the school, and for the siblings of currently enrolled students.
Joe Ruscitti Athletic Endowment Fund:
This special endowment has been created to honor Joe’s love of sports and his passion for youth athletics. It will be designated to athletic programming and development for the Chicago Waldorf School.
Elizabeth Lauder Early Endowment Fund:
The Early Fund is designated to receive gifts and bequests to provide new uniforms for the high school women’s basketball team.
