- Early Childhood Teacher
Sarah has 15 years experience working with young children from babysitting to teaching. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Drexel University, where she worked on a research team focused on pediatric psychology. After graduating from Drexel she spent 10 months as an au pair in Spain for a wonderful family with a 5 year old girl, a 3 year old boy and a new born. She continued to travel with her future husband to New Zealand, Japan and Greece on a backpacking and organic farming (WWOOFing) trip for 3 months.
Upon moving to Chicago, Sarah fell in love with Waldorf Education as a nanny accompanying a little one to Susan and Kate’s Parent Child classes. Soon after she started her training at the Arcturus Teacher Training program and did not look back. While in the program she worked as a substitute teacher at both City Garden and the Chicago Waldorf School.
Her love of nature started as a child when helping her Dad garden and feeling the earthworms wiggle on her fingers and toes. She endeavors to weave her love of stories, traveling and the outdoors into her work with children. This summer Sarah Morrison, formerly Herman, was married to Gabriel Morrison in a forest in Scotland! It’s been an exciting and eventful summer and she can’t wait to share her stories and adventures with the Sweet Peas this year while Ms. Donkel is away.
