Jackie Johnson

Jackie Johnson joined Chicago Waldorf School as Director of Development in August of 2010. She grew up in Dallas Texas, lived in Ohio, and then attended a private independent boarding school on the east coast where the focus of this experience was on performing arts, sports, and character development. She received her BS Degree in Education from University of Cincinnati where she also studied dance at the College Conservatory of Music. Jackie has since focused her work with independent schools and colleges with the mission and vision of character development, arts, whole child methodology, pluralism and developing global citizens. Jackie taught in the classroom for over 8 years with the last 3 in administration as Assistant Director and Chair of the Curriculum Committee.

Jackie left her work in education to go on to admissions and marketing work for Columbia College Chicago where she was charged with all out of state recruitment. During her 9 year tenure with Columbia she was a faculty member of the Educational Studies program and coordinator of the MAT program in their graduate school. She spent the last few years of her time at Columbia College as Associate Director of Admissions with her focus on refining best practices, branding and managing the admissions team. She left Columbia College to join DePaul University to manage the Theatre Arts Department and Drake Children’s Theatre on the Barat College Campus. During her 4 years with DePaul, she was Managing Director of Shakespeare on the Green, a professional summer equity theatre production on the Barat College campus green.

Jackie comes to Chicago Waldorf School from Lake Forest Academy as the Director of Alumni Relations where she was a part of an advancement team that launched an ambitious 50 million dollar campaign. She was with LFA for 5 years. As a result of her fund development and marketing work for Shakespeare on the Green and her alumni relations and campaign work for Lake Forest Academy; Jackie brings excellent qualifications in fund development strategies, campaign strategies, strategic planning, and creating and launching ambitious relationship building programs. She spends her time outside of work with her family, her husband Brett and her daughter Audrey who now attends the Middle School here at Chicago Waldorf School. Jackie continues to love and appreciate dance, all forms of theatre, arts and running.
