Jason has been in the communications, advertising and graphic design fields for over 18 years. During that time he was a professor of Art & Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, of Design and Communications at DePaul University, and assumed leadership positions as Curriculum Chair and then Dean of the Institute of Art & Design at Robert Morris College. As a teacher, Jason focused on aiding students' abilities to construct engaging forms of communication, including fostering their sense of confidence in authorship, self-expression and their ability to actively listen to and translate information from others. In leadership, Jason directed the expansion of programming in the three academic institutions that he served including a rigorous accreditation process for two new degrees in Media Arts at Robert Morris College. Jason's experience was honed in professional practice; he is the founder and Creative Director for Art Works Design, a creative communications and design consultancy that serves many artistic and cultural institutions in Chicago including Adventure Stage Chicago, Exelon Corporation (parent company to ComEd), the Chicago Children's Museum, and the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum. He also served as the Director of Marketing & Advertising for Prudential Preferred Properties, during which time he led his staff to expand the company's web-based and digital media marketing programs while honing their advertising and corporate communications in print and network media.

Jason's professional career has always been integrated with his passion for creative, artistic and activist involvement in the city of Chicago. To those ends he founded cultural collectives and social activism groups including Kidical Mass, The Empirical Opera, Cook County Theater Department, Grommet Studios, DOG, a theater company, and he participates in numerous others including CROP, Chicago Conservation Corps and the Active Transportation Alliance. He is a Chicago Waldorf School parent whose two children first entered the school in 2005. He loves the school and was pleasantly surprised to find, that in picking this school for his kids, his choice has furthered his own learning and advancement in education.
