Rebecca began her educational career as a teacher of English, social studies, and theatre arts, before moving in the areas of technology and Library/Media. In 2005, she moved to Warsaw, Poland and transitioned to the business side of education as the Finance & Operations Director at the American School of Warsaw. From there, she moved to Cairo, Egypt to take a similar position at the Cairo American School, where she had a front row seat for the “Arab Spring” revolution that eventually ousted the president.
Returning to the US, Rebecca was excited to accept the position of Finance Director for the Chicago Waldorf School, as her youngest daughter had attended and loved the Waldorf school environment in Vermont. Rebecca has a BA in English Education, a MLIS in Library Science, graduate level coursework in Educational Leadership, and will complete her MBA from UMass Amherst in June, 2013—never stop learning! She is a member of the Finance Committee, Permanent Campus Committee, Compensation Task Force, Technology Task Force, and serves as Vendor Coordinator for both the Holiday and May Fairs.
In her spare time, Rebecca loves to attend the theatre and ballet, sew for her granddaughter, read and travel.
