Sports Overview
Dedication to the belief that interscholastic athletic activities have an important role in the overall development of students in grades 6-12 is a part of Waldorf education. Sports provide an arena for mental, physical and social skills development as well as a source of personal and school pride.
Middle school athletics are participatory events that stress teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development and discipline. There are no tryouts or cuts for teams in this age bracket giving all interested students the opportunity to experience sports if they so choose.
Competition in the high school moves to the next level with teams participating in seasonal play against other independent schools and in city tournaments. Our focus is on helping student athletes develop into dignified, strong, focused players who conduct themselves with pride and grace in competitive situations.
