Foreign Exchange

Foreign Exchange Program
Our students have the opportunity to spend part of a semester abroad as part of our Foreign Exchange Program. Students are free to choose from any of the Spanish- or German-speaking Waldorf schools from around the world.  While living with a host family, they are able to immerse themselves in another language and culture while continuing their education at the local Waldorf school.

Chicago Waldorf School has offered foreign exchanges for 15 years, placing students primarily in German or Spanish speaking countries. Exchanges have included destinations such as Chile, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Argentina and Peru.

Applications from International Students
At Chicago Waldorf School, applications from students abroad are warmly welcomed.

We value the enrichment of our own curriculum and community by the variety of experiences, cultures and viewpoints that our exchange students bring with them. Because we have limited openings for direct exchange and international students, interested applicants are encouraged to contact Alberto Correa, Foreign Exchange Coordinator, to determine if there are any openings available for your preferred academic year. Once accepted, an I-20 visa petition will be sent to the applicant along with details on proceeding with the American consulate for U.S. admission for study.
