CWS Holiday Fair- Artisanal Market

Table vendors are a major component of the Chicago Waldorf School's Holiday Fair. Waldorf education highly values --and incorporates into its curriculum--the processes of handwork, woodwork, metalwork and artisan crafting as well as fine arts and performing arts. You will find a community of parents, students, faculty, staff and alumni who are eager practioners and consumers of handmade, D.I.Y., artisinal non-commercial goods and crafts. Vendors are welcome to submit applications for the limited 30 vendor table slots available at this years Holiday Fair. The Fair actually consists of two events:

Holiday Fair Vendors Marketplace  /  Friday December 6th, 2013 /  6:30-9:30 pm  /  FREE Admission

CWS Holiday Fair  / Saturday December 7th, 2013  / 10:00am-4:00pm  /  $5 Entrance Fee

Both events are open to the public. The Chicago Waldorf School community is welcome to invite parents, friends, relatives, alumni families, grandparents, and neighbors to attend. The school promotes the fair through neighborhood promotions, online and social media and advertisements in Chicago market media.

Holiday Fair Vendors Marketplace
A "kid-free" shopping night for parents & the general public
(adults only) 6:30pm - 9:30pm, Free!

A chance to get first dibs at our amazing Holiday Fair vendors! Attendees enjoy a special night of "shopping the Bazaar" with wine and cheese, a little socializing and a lot of shopping! Friday holds a celebratory atmosphere supporting a “job well done” for the parents after they have spent the afternoon setting up the fair. It offers a welcoming adult shopping experience for the public and the dedicated shoppers who want to get a lot of gift purchases crossed off their lists!

Saturday Day-long Community Fair
(open to all) 10am - 4pm, $5
The Holiday Fair offers up a day of community entertainment, games & family activities, a silent auction and food offerings in our festively decorated gymnasium.

Entertainment will include student and parent performances that concludes with the ALL DADS BAND which parodies rock ballads, shares seasonal classics & performs kid friendly songs.

Activities will display the Waldorf tradition that celebrates the value of crafting. There will be jump-rope making, candle-dipping, Waldorf Recycled, a dragon shoot and Children’s House (crafts for children 6-years old and under,) along with many other favorites.

Share Food in a Community  “Sit-Down” Meal in the gymnasium. The bakery will be open ALL day long, and also serves coffee, water and juice. Starting at 11:00am, visit one of our simple, delicious, nutritious, food vendors for a re-energizing meal. The gym will be filled with plenty of tables and chairs for everyone to sit, relax and enjoy a meal or something sweet with their friends and family.

Every year, the Holiday Fair’s main goal is to be a friend-raiser. We invite the entire Chicagoland community to visit our school to witness the amazing spirit of Waldorf and the power and magic that happens when we work with head, heart, and hands. Our goal for Holiday Fair  is to celebrate that spirit with as much simplicity, reverence and joy as we can!
