Welcome to 6th Grade Eurythmy
Friday, August 22, 2014
The 6th grade this year will continue concentration exercises which encourage the students to focus. More difficult rod exercises will also be practiced to strengthen their coordination and posture.
The sixth grade will work on a form called the “Transitions of the Diamonds” which gives the students the teleological experience of Geometry through movement. When Physics is introduced the children will listen to music and be asked to distinguish the qualities of the intervals. Focus will be given to the octave which helps the children overcome heaviness in their limbs by lifting ones arms and hands upward. Many complex rhythms will be practiced. In music the students will continue deepen their experience of rhythm, beat and pitch, and also of major and minor chords.
