Welcome to Ms. Bikchurina’s 6th Grade Eurythmy
Wednesday, September 5, 2012
As the culmination of the Elementary School experience, the 6th grade students this year will learn more difficult rod exercises and will be also practice strengthening their coordination and posture.
The sixth grade will work on a form called the “Transitions of the Diamonds” which gives the students the teleological experience of Geometry through movement. When Physics is introduced the children will listen to music and be asked to discern and to distinguish the qualities of the intervals. Focus will be given to the octave which helps the children overcome heaviness in their limbs by lifting ones arms and hands upward. Many complex rhythms will be practiced in their Eurythmy movements. In music the students will continue deepen their experience of rhythm, beat and pitch, and also of major and minor chords.
