 Read  the opening pages of “Before the City Gate” 125 - 131

It is Easter morning and everyone is leaving the city to enjoy the spring morning in the open air. The dialogue is a little confusing. First a group of five apprentices plan their day; then two servant girls come along. There are also two students, some citizen’s daughters, some older citizens and some soldiers. Try to figure out what is on the mind of each group and the attitudes of each group toward the others.
