Monday--Read 2.1 and 2.2.1-186.  Respond to the following topics in one well-developed paragraph each.

1. What can you determine about Polonius's character from 2.1?  Include lines that support your interpretation.

2. Ophelia describes Hamlet's behavior when he visits her.  What is Hamlet up to in this scene?  Why does he treat Ophelia this way?  Does he love her?  Does she love him?  What lines point to answers to these questions?

Tuesday--Read Hamlet 2.2.188-338.  Those students who are performing tomorrow should complete their character worksheets.

Wednesday--Read Hamlet 2.2. 445-574.  Note: Skip lines 339-444.  Using the text, illustrate the scene with Pyrrhus, Priam, and Hecuba. 

Thursday--Finish 2.2.  Read Hamlet's "O what a peasant rogue am I " soliloquy several times.  

Friday--Read 3.1.  Read Hamlet's "To be or Not to Be" soliloquy several times.   Convert the soliloquy into two voices debating.  One side should represent "to be" and the other "not to be."
