Monday--Read "Ozymandias."  Answer the following questions: 1. Describe the statue; 2. For what did Ozymandias want to be remembered?  3. What is the significance of the setting?  Of framing the poem from the point of view of a traveler?

Tuesday--Re-read "Ode to the West Wind."  Be prepared to discuss the following questions in class tomorrow: 1. In the first three cantos, the poet asks the west wind to listen to him.  What does he ask of the west wind in Cantos 4 and 5?  2. Given what you know about Shelley's biography, what might be the metaphorical meaning of the west wind?  3. What images from the poem support this metaphorical meaning?

Wednesday--Read "Ode to a Nightingale" and "Ode on a Grecian Urn."  Look up the underlined words.

Thursday--Read "La Belle Dame sans Merci."

Friday--Romantic Poetry and Poets Essay due Tuesday.
