Today we discussed Thomas Paine and the significance of his work, especially his pamphlet "Common Sense." Your homework for tonight is to read Mary Wollstonecraft's "Vindication of the Rights of Woman." Read the essay carefully and be prepared for a short quiz tomorrow. You are also to submit your corrected biography of Voltaire tomorrow. The final entry in your block book is to select at least five Voltaire quotes from the sheet I gave you and artistically arrange them on a page. Be as creative as you like on this project.
Tomorrow after we look at "Vindication" we will review the study guide I handed out in preparation for Thursday's test. Review this list; if you aren't clear on any of the items, bring your questions to class. The time to get them answered is before the test! Finally, remember that block books are due on Friday, no exceptions. As our schedule allows, I hope to give you time to work on your books in class over the next few days.
