Week one of our block concluded today as we wrapped up our look at Francis Bacon and then turned our attention to Isaac Newton. Thank you for keeping up with your assignments and remaining engaged in class.
Your homework for Monday:
Read the selection from John Locke's "Essay Concerning Human Understanding." Examine the article closely; we will discuss Locke's ideas on Monday and have a short quiz on the material on Tuesday.
Using your class notes, write a first draft of "The New Method of Francis Bacon". Refer to the handout to guide you in writing this essay. I will collect rough drafts on Monday.
To those of you who received a corrected copy of your "Guardians of the 21st Century" essay, please make the suggested improvements and resubmit your paper to me. I will finish correcting the final few of these essays this weekend and get them back to you on Monday.
