U.S. Constitution - Wednesday, September 18, 2013

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

We began the day with a quiz on the Founding Fathers and the Connecticut Compromise. We then reviewed the importance of George Mason, before returning to our study of Article 1 of the Constitution. You should now be able to tell me a few enumerated powers that are given to the Congress and to the president. Tomorrow we will finish examining this document; make sure your worksheets are completed.

Using the handout I gave you, "How a Bill Becomes a Law", you are to artistically draw a diagram, showing how a proposed piece of legislation moves through the Congress and finally on to the president's desk. This work should be turned in tomorrow, in final form. Be as creative as you like as you craft your diagram, but remember that it needs to clearly show the progress of a bill.

Your other homework assignment is to read pages 25 - 26 of your reading booklet on the Electoral College. Then, on a separate piece of paper, write down what you consider to be the five most important pieces of information you learned from reading this article. This assignment should be turned in to me in the morning.

I have been returning your essays and other homework and block book assignments. Please make the corrections I have asked for and return these to me tomorrow.

I'll see you in the morning.
