FIND AND DRAW: Representations of (a) Ptolemaic (geocentric) system and (b) Copernican (heliocentric) system

COPY and SOLVE KP3 & 4 from message board:

3) A train travels at 100 mph for 225 miles.
a) How much time did it take the train to travel this distance?  Give your answer in hours & minutes.
b) If the train began travelling at 3:15 pm, when will it finish its trip?
c) If the train travelled for another 225 miles at 75 mph, what is the train’s average speed? (be careful on this one!  The answer is not 87.5 mph!)

4) A car travels from point A to point B at an average speed of 45 mph.
a) If the car takes 1 hour to complete the trip, and for 30 minutes of the trip, the car is moving at 70 mph, what must be the car’s average speed for the other 30 minutes of the trip?
b) If instead of situation (a), the car was travelling 70 mph for only 15 minutes of the trip, what must be the car’s average speed for the other 45 minutes of the trip (average speed for the whole trip is still 45 mph)?
