Dear Parents and Friends,
After the new year, students of German II are learning the two basic past tenses (Perfekt und Imperfekt) and are using them in speech, story-telling from their past and writing. Combined with vocabulary such as a typical grocery list of food items and transportation methods, students are learning common idioms spoken now in Germany, and how and when to use them in everyday conversation. The students are also building on their knowledge of the cases, such as when and why to use the accusative case.
