The Pentathlon- 5th grade class trip
May 16, 8:00 am - May 18, 3:00 pm
Heartland Camp, Wisconsin

Fifth grade students from many regional Waldorf schools come together in the woods of Wisconsin to participate for three days (May 16-18) in physical acts of skill, endurance and beauty as modeled after the classic Greek Pentathlon games. Teams representing various Hellenistic city-states bring the students from different schools together to witness their performances in the areas of long jump, javelin throw, Greek-style wrestling, discus throw, and the track events: sprinting and team baton-passing relay races. Fifth grade parents are invited for one day (Thurs 17th) to witness the students present their best efforts to model truth and beauty in athletics.
