DISCIPLINE: Guiding and Companioning Our Children
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Lower Eurythmy Room- Rogers Park Campus

Discipline is a complicated topic to grasp. What does it mean? We will explore the difference between discipline as punishment and external control and discipline as guidance upon a path moving toward internal guidance from "the Self." What can we as parents do to create a groundwork upon which discipline, leading to self-discipline, can grow? How can parents work with the child to get to this goal? All the foundations we can establish with our children in their younger years will be the bedrock upon which we can all stand when meeting the challenging years of adolescence. Nancy Blanning is a long-time Waldorf educator, parent, and grandmother. Her special interest and experience is in the domain of early childhood supporting healthy development for children in our modern, fast-paced times. Her years of experience have confirmed for her that working with the child rather than against them works best for all concerned.
