Circle Pines Center Summer Camp
We offer one and two week, co-ed, overnight, camp sessions in southwest Michigan for children 8-17. The mission of the camp is to teach peace, social justice, environmental stewardship and cooperation in a traditional camp setting, through work, recreation and the arts. Campers are split into three age groups: Acorns 8–11; Juniors 11–13; and Youth 13–17. We also have a Counselor-In-Training option for those 16 & 17. We are small (maximum of 74 campers), but still have some openings in several of our session/age groups. Fresh Air and Fairies is a summer art camp taught in Chicago and Ann Arbor by Waldorf alumni Stephanie Boyd and immerses children in the magic of fairies. During camp we will go on nature walks and listen to stories about all kinds of fairies, we will learn how to draw fairy wings, eyes, ears, slippers, clothing and more. Together will explore artistic methods in watercolor paints and pencils, graphite and ink. Our week together will culminate in a self-created "How to Draw Fairies" book, a watercolor paint project and a watercolor pencil project similar to the pieces Ms. Boyd is known for. Stephanie Boyd is opening her violin studio in Chicago! Beginner and Intermediate students of all ages are welcome.
